As the industry's only centralized data-sharing platform, Club Benchmarking (CB) arms managers and boards with the facts they need to stay focused on strategic issues and lead their clubs with confidence. CB is a powerful online tool that provides subscribing clubs with 24/7 desktop access to the very best industry data available.
In-depth analysis of data from more than 1,000 clubs produces actionable information to support strategic planning and budgeting decisions and to help clubs quickly identify strengths and opportunities for improvement. Standardization of data makes it possible to accomplish comparative analysis of a club’s performance relative to peer sets or to the industry as a whole.
In developing the Club Benchmarking online platform, co-founders Ray Cronin and Russ Conde worked closely with general managers, board and committee members, and audit firms specializing in club finance. The result is a major leap forward in the approach to information sharing and the value of benchmarking in the club industry.
Shortly after CB’s launch in 2010, Cronin and Conde began recognizing patterns in the aggregated data that suggested the existence of a common business model in the club industry. Further research confirmed a consistent pattern of proportionality in the sources and uses of cash, now known as the "Available Cash Model," which is unaffected by a club’s geographic location or size.
Currently, more than 350 clubs use CB’s automatic graphical reporting of the Available Cash Model and other Key Performance Indicators to evaluate their own performance in relation to norms within specific peer clusters or the industry at large.
