Joseph F. Beditz, PhDNational Golf Foundation
Joseph F. Beditz, Ph.D., has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Golf Foundation (NGF) since 1989. He joined the NGF in 1984 as Director of Research and is widely recognized as a leading expert on the game and business of golf in the United States.
Dr. Beditz has extensive experience in strategic planning. Working with the consulting firm of McKinsey and Company he authored in 1988 the golf industry’s first strategic plan entitled: A Strategic Plan for the Growth of Golf. In 1999 he once again teamed with McKinsey to update the industry plan. That effort resulted in the publication of A Strategic Perspective on the Growth of Golf, which is currently guiding industry-wide efforts to grow the game and business of golf.
In 1987 Dr. Beditz formed NGF Consulting, Inc., in order to provide comprehensive golf course development research and consulting services to public and private sector clients. Since its establishment NGF Consulting has become one of the golf industry’s leading providers of research and consulting services to facility operators and developers across the nation. As chief executive, Dr. Beditz has overseen the development of NGF’s array of customer loyalty and market analysis tools.
Dr. Beditz holds a Ph.D. in Research Methods and Statistics from Florida State University where he also earned his Masters Degree. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of North Dakota.
