As the New Year rolls in, organizations in almost every industry are rolling out their lists of top trends to watch in 2013. We’ve gathered a selection of “Top Lists” from leaders in key areas that clubs should keep in mind during the coming months.

Software Slowdown: Has Club Software Outlived its Usefulness?
Club management software systems are an integral part of club operations. If the club management system has been in use for at least five years, it may have become obsolete—and could be costing the club time and money.

The annual Excellence in Club Management® Award, sponsored by McMahon Group and Club & Resort Business magazine, recently announced its 2012 award recipients. The award recognizes private club general managers, managers and chief operating officers who have exhibited outstanding skills in managing their respective clubs.
“How are we doing?” It’s a simple question, but one with a solid reputation for keeping club managers and board presidents awake at night. Club leaders want to know how their club is performing both financially and operationally—in its own right, relative to clubs of similar size, amenities, etc., and relative to the industry as a whole.
