Privacy and Cyber Insurance

Cyber-related data breach incidents increased in both frequency and severity in 2013. In fact, more than 13 million Americans were victims of identity fraud last year. Both corporate and personal information stored electronically in a company's network offer tremendous value but also increases an organization’s risk. Clubs need to be cognizant of their exposures and how to best protect against a data breach or other information technology threat.


Final Tangible Property Regulations (TARS), commonly called “repair regulations,” clarify a very complicated portion of tax law affecting all clubs that use tangible property. The regulations likely will require many clubs to file at least one change in accounting method before filing the club's 2014 tax return.
