About the National Club Association

Advocacy, Insight, Governance

NCA is the only organization that actively lobbies the U.S. Congress on behalf of the private club industry. In addition to lobbying federal legislators, NCA’s Advocacy Program ensures that club concerns are forefront when federal and state legislative, regulatory and legal issues affecting the industry are being decided.

NCA offers time critical solutions to club leaders when they need them through our Resource Center. Club leaders also have access to best practices through NCA’s periodicals, publications and education programs focusing on industry trends, human resources, operations, and governance and planning topics.

NCA's Club Members are among the most prestigious private clubs in the country. Our Corporate Partners and Associate Members represent leading industry service providers that help clubs maintain and elevate their operations and services. Together, we work in partnership to provide the best resources for the industry.

Mission

The mission of the National Club Association is to promote and advance the interests and well-being of all private, social and recreational clubs through advocacy, insightful education and governance best practices.

For more than 55 years, the National Club Association (NCA), a Washington, D.C.-based trade association, has provided private clubs with a voice on Capitol Hill—as vital today as when we were formed. NCA also has educated clubs on the ever-evolving trends in the club community and has provided them with the tools they need to navigate the tides of change, including resources related to effective club governance, operations, model club practices, trends and legal issues.

NCA’s advocacy efforts on behalf of the private club industry in the past year included supporting federal candidates through our political action committee—ClubPAC—and lobbying on legislative and regulatory issues like the Affordable Care Act, the Department of Labor’s Overtime Rule and worker classification guidance, the National Labor Relations Board’s rules supporting unions, the Environmental Protection Agency’s Waters of the U.S. Rule and pro-business legislation.

NCA also provides valuable tools, education programs, trends analysis and best practices to empower clubs through informed leadership. Governance resources through our Board Leadership Institute have included a board toolkit, strategic planning guide, white paper series and other timely and effective resources to govern clubs.
